To ensure only the highest grade tea leaves are used in our blends, our tea leaves are hand-plucked. This means that the harvesting process uses very little fossil fuels and emits nearly no CO2. Tea plantations are net absorbers of CO2, one of the main gases responsible for global warming. Good Tea Co. is carbon neutral and all of our teas are processed in a fully solar-powered facility that generates more energy than it consumes.

We believe in doing our part to slow climate change. This is why our packaging and shipping materials are 100% recyclable. Given the essential oils in tea leaves, compostable packaging degrades rapidly and the tea cannot be properly preserved.

For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our profits go to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Using carbon capture devices, these companies remove carbon emissions to counteract any CO2 created by our shipments. After this process is complete, any remaining funds go toward further developing carbon removal technologies.
